Online ticketing for a tourist boat operator

The challenge

Selling tickets for a boat service is harder than it looks: several lines and stops, seasonal timetables, a fixed daily capacity, stops that close for bad weather, international passengers and a share of sales coming through resellers. All of it had to live in one system that the office staff could run on their own.

What we built

• Online purchase in 4 languages with Stripe checkout, separate Stripe accounts per line, and a PDF ticket with barcode sent by email
• Network configuration in the back-office: lines, stops, routes and fares, timetable templates and rules that generate the daily sailings automatically
• Operations tools: stop closures by date, an orders calendar with capacity and allotments, boarding manifests
• Cancellations and refunds with reasons, emails and SMS translated into each customer's language and sent in the background
• GetYourGuide integration over API: availability, reservations, bookings and cancellations sync with the platform
• Roles and permissions, order reports and PDF exports for the office team

Outcome

Direct sales, reseller bookings and daily operations now run on a single platform. The office team configures new lines and seasons, handles weather closures and manages cancellations without asking a developer.
